Oakland's Redwood Heights Neighborhood

Families often choose this mature neighborhood because the highly-rated Redwood Elementary School and more moderate home prices offer an excellent value. The Redwood Heights Community Center offers a variety of activities and events and nearby Jordan Park is an ideal place for toddlers and youngsters to play.

The central location and easy freeway access makes getting around to the shopping districts of Montclair, Laurel, Glenview, Grand Lake, Piedmont and Downtown Oakland a breeze. And there’s the added bonus of living at the doorstep of Redwood Regional and Joaquin Miller Parks, with lots of recreation some of the finest redwood forests to be found anywhere. Just over Highway 13 on Redwood Road is the Redwood Shopping Center, which is a convenience for the local residents. The nearest BART stations are Fruitvale, Lake Merritt and Rockridge.

The architecture in Redwood Heights is an interesting blend of Mediterranean, Tudor, Mid-Century, traditional and Craftsman bungalow. These homes—some with views— were primarily built from the late 1930’s through the mid 60’s, and the mix of styles brings interesting character to the quiet streets.
